“Give me liberty or give me Def Leppard!”
“Are we done yet?”
“I regret I have but one GACK!”
“In God we trust. All others pay cash.”
“Game over, man!”
a motto is a saying or slogan. On the other hand, it could be a maxim or adage or even an epigram. Whatever it is, it is not something commonly found written on a pickle or radish. They can be dangerous if it's on a flag of an opposing army and you are standing there like an eedjit trying to read it.
It is intended to be something catchy, if you think Latin is catchy. Dead language, y'all. Short mottos are most memorable, but all the good ones have been taken already so don't even try.
