Fish fingers

Fish fingers??!! Are you daft? Fish have fins, they don't have fingers. Whoever has created this hatful of nonsense deserves a good flogging, if you ask me. What are sold in the markets are called fish fingers, but are actually made from the wing meat of various kinds of fish, mostly haddock and pollock nowadays. As we still see large schools of those over the UK and the Irish Sea, the fishing dirigibles go out and net them in quantity, slice them up and square up the pieces neatly, bread them, then freeze them to be sent on to retailers.

Of course, those doughty fisherman also snag what is called 'by-catch', things other than fishy fish. This does include airliners carrying tourists, but no matter, as the flavour is still the same.
