Death Valley – now there's an accurate name for you. This does not sink in as it is a popular destination to take the kids during summer vacation. For those who put their faith in technology, Death Valley is a popular location for "death by GPS", where deadend trails made by wild burros are mapped as major roads by GPS makers looking at satellite photos. The actual highway through this desert is always a tempting shortcut between Las Vegas and Los Angeles, as many vultures will tell you.
Of course, clever devils will visit during the winter. However, they quickly find that "desert" does not mean "always blazing hot" and that it is hard to build snowmen while wearing shorts and flipflops, unless you are from Canada.
