The Czech Republic is a country in central Europe. As Czechoslovakia, it included Slovakia, now a separate country. The parting in 1993 was peaceful, and the two share joint custody of the kids.
The country contains mostly Czech speakers (surprise! surprise!). As such, they freely sprinkle diacritical marks (accents, yo) on everything they touch, which makes your laptop or smartphone screen look dirty, if you ask me. Then again, it makes every sentence look leet, so that's pretty kewl. When they had typewriters, it must have caused a lot of worn-out backspace keys to get all the accents. Either that, or Czechs had more keys and fingers than I give them credit for.
