Chocolate chip

Chocolate chips are tiny bits of chocolate, most often used for tollhouse cookies or ice cream add-ons.

They are made into small droplike shapes with a cute little curlicue at the top. Though you are required to use chocolate chips for cookies in 22 states by law, apparently the chocolate industry figures most people are too stupid to break up bars into little pieces. You'd think they'd sweep the floor of all broken bars and just sell those. So this is done so you get those little curlicues on your cookies? Heck, no. The chips just melt into little blobs.

So remember next time you make cookies, you can just make cookies without chocolate chips, then melt a block of chocolate in a saucepan and pour it down your throat while you eat cookies.
